Koh Samet

One of many quiet islands to choose from, it was it's proximity to Bangkok that caused me to choose Koh Samet for our brief stay.

The island is located south of Rayong, on the coast about four hours south east of Bangkok.

The beaches there were very clean and quiet, with seemingly few people around, as these first few photos show.

Sawngthaew (pick-up trucks with benches in the back), like many places in Thailand, are the most economical form of transport from the bus/boat drop-off point to areas of accomodation.
