Karoo National Park
Springboks weren't so easy to photograph as they were pretty quick to turn and show you their back ends as they ran from the car.

Green bushes and small trees survive only along the rivers, which rarely flow.

Zebra. Quite boring, to be honest.

Me and the Renault Clio in Karoo National Park.
You have to look carefully in this photo to see
the water pools at the head of this gorge,
where a river flows when the rain falls.
Below: The end of the road for me in my little Clio.

The huge area has a wealth of fossils of animals that roamed well before the time of the dinosaurs.
There's a fossil trail in the park, where many strange creatures can be pictured in your head if you've the imagination for it.
