On the Beach
A group of us who meet weekly for Korean classes in Changwon headed to
Namhae on Korean Liberation Day to spend a couple of days at the beach.
Namhae is an island connected by bridge to the southern tip of the Korean
peninsula.
This
first photograph shows part of the group (Sunny, Julie, Cilla, Reza,
Gui,
Greg and Jiang) with Namhae Bridge in the background.
Friday's weather was great, with low humidity, but our trip was to be
shortened by rain on Saturday.

This is the beach where we spent much of Friday, relaxing, swimming, playing ball games, drinking beer and participating in some water sports.

Here are Cilla, Dave, myself, Reza and Greg enjoying traditional beach refreshment...

...which went straight to some people's heads...
...and put others to sleep.

Dave and Saurabh hope to meet the girls of their dreams through these message-carrying bottles they found drifted ashore!

Reza and Greg.

This must be a childhood beach tradition all over the world - being buried up to your neck in the sand!
It's Gina who's under this sand-body of a mermaid.
Cilla, myself, Dave, Reza, Dixon, Julie, ??? and Saurabh about to ride the banana and add gallons of sea-water to the contents of our stomachs.

Why we were made to sit in this position was a mystery.
It felt strange (and looked it) and uncomfortable so as soon as we were moving we shuffled into normal sitting positions.

Having eaten and arrived at the house we were staying at we, (Dave, Rachel, Greg and I) played some cards and had one last beer before a good night's sleep.
